Amel Shimoun Nona, the Chaldean Catholic archbishop of Mosul, Iraq, who is now living in exile, warned that his diocese is now run by radical Muslims... “Our sufferings today are the prelude of those that you, Europeans and Western Christians, will also suffer in the near future,” said the archbishop. “I lost my diocese. The physical setting of my apostolate has been occupied by Islamic radicals who want us converted or dead. But my community is still alive.” “Please, try to understand us,” he said. “Your liberal and democratic principles are worth nothing here. You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever growing number of Muslims.” “Also, you are in danger,” said the archbishop. “You must take strong and courageous decisions, even at the cost of contradicting your principles.” “You think all men are equal, but that is not true: Islam does not say that all men are equal,” said Archbishop Nona. “Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home.” source: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/michael-w-chapman/catholic-archbishop-mosul-islam-does-not-say-all-men-are-equal

The success of the Islamofascists in utilizing the phrase Islamophobia to stifle any and all criticism of Islam, coupled with the constant threat of violence if the Islamists do not get what they want, has achieved results that Allah himself could never have imagined, especially in Europe. In Europe almost all criticism of Islam has been criminalized through the imposition of  "hate speech" laws in place in all 27 countries in the European Union. On paper, these laws seem to protect all groups from hate speech, but in practice, Islam is the only true protected class... The Islamofascists needn't worry with the Obama administration in power. Obama has directed  his administration to refer to Islamic terrorism as "violent extremism," and has wiped all of its Dept. of Defense and Dept. of Justice documents of any usage of the words "Islam" and "jihad." For example, the Dept. of Defense still refers to the Ft. Hood terrorist attack as "workplace violence ." On Sept. 25, 2012, at the UN, Obama said the following : "The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." If Obama is right, the future will belong to those who wish to force everyone on earth to live under the barbaric, supremacist and degrading Sharia law, and to abandon the freedom, liberty and justice that at least some Americans still cherish so dearly. It is far from irrational to fear that prospect. source: http://www.commdiginews.com/politics-2/how-islamofascists-use-islamophobia-to-stifle-debate-limit-free-speech-13492/

Oswiecim, Poland. Walking among the starvation cells and gas chambers where more than a million souls perished, it is hard to explain to my 12-year-old son how the free world allowed this happen. Why did the world’s democracies not stop the Nazi movement in its infancy — before it indoctrinated millions with its hateful ideology, took control of a great power, built its military might, invaded foreign lands and constructed death camps like the one here at Auschwitz? The depressing answer is: for the same reason that the world’s democracies have done almost nothing to stop the rise of the Islamic State. source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/marc-thiessen-in-failing-to-stop-the-islamic-state-us-ignores-the-lessons-of-auschwitz/2014/08/18/ef3b3fe8-26d2-11e4-86ca-6f03cbd15c1a_story.html

We are not in a mere skirmish.  Rather, it is a war between civilizations, not nation-states per se, as were World Wars I and II.  Our hesitancy to mobilize for a war of this scale could be considered alarming.  Our government is in denial of or fleeing not only from a simple acknowledgement of our war condition, but also from the scale of the war. The war against ISIS is actually part of a hydra-headed conflict we have with Hamas, Hezb'allah, al-Qaeda, Al-Shabab, Boko Haram, the insurgents of Mali, the Muslim Brotherhood, the militant mullahs and imams of Iran, the Syrian rebels and Syrian government of Assad, Fatah, and Islamic Jihad.  Even our so-called friends or allies in the African/Middle Eastern regions such as Turkey (a NATO member-state?), Qatar, and even Saudi Arabia are nightmarishly unfriendly.  All are financing sharia propaganda and murderous rampages in various countries... We watch our citizens murdered in cold blood on TV, and then address the guilty party as though it were a misbehaving junior high school student. Thus, if we are in a war of a worldwide scope, then one may conclude we are in full retreat. source: http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2014/09/we_are_losing_wwiii.html

Muslim emigration to Western countries unsettles those governments internally due to the Islamic takeover of public space, politics, economics and its image in the politically correct media. In many parts of the world one can say that "Islamic State is here", in neighborhoods that the local police do not enter, in the cities where a Muslim majority forces Sharia on supermarkets, pharmacies, bars and churches – and in the parliaments where the presence of the Islamic State is becoming more and more influential and solidly based... Anyone who thinks that destroying "Islamic State" in Iraq and Syria will solve the problem had better think again, because the problem is not this or that organization or country. The problem is the ideology that today motivates one and half billion people who believe that the "religion of Allah is Islam" (Qu'ran chap.53, v.19). This ideology will not be eliminated even if we get rid of the jihadists in Iraq and Syria down to the last man. Their followers are to be found in most parts of the world and that world must be prepared to change the rules of the game, otherwise it will find itself putting out fires instead of apprehending the pyromaniacs. source: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/15668#.VB7EmRb2WXo

Dutch authorities have ordered Dutch soldiers not to wear their uniforms when they are using public transport on their way to the barracks. But the Dutch are not the only cowards in the West. Unfortunately, the Netherlands is not the only country that, for fear of attacks by Muslim extremists, has advised its military to no longer wear their uniforms in public. Apparently, Australia, Belgium, Britain and France have done the same. source: http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/4762/cream-puff-corps

The practice of pretending not to notice things that scream for our attention— things like suicide bombings, the targeted murders of innocent school children, beheadings, honor killings, subjugation of women, and the transformation of community mosques into Jihadist command posts – has been practiced to the point of perfection... Our multicultural embrace has transformed Western society into a vacuous nullity that stands for nothing and believes in nothing except our own cultural and moral inferiority... We can’t bring ourselves to admit what our enemies can’t stop admitting. The terrorists can’t stop talking about the Islam that motivates while our leaders can’t stop pretending that there are no such admissions. While we circle the wagons to deny the Islam of our enemies, our enemies won’t shut up about their Islam. For them, Islam is not a religion in the Western sense. It is an all encompassing human experience. Wouldn’t it be easier if we acknowledged what they acknowledge? Our enemies understand perfectly well why they are chopping off our heads. They know why they gun us down and send suicide bombers against us. They know that, unless we change, we will soon lose our freedom, our civilization and our world. source: http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2014/12/18/leftist-jihadi-denialism-grows-in-wake-of-new-terror-attacks/

Why should the U.S. and Europe take as immigrants people who are 99.9 percent allied against the Western way of life? Why are we not protecting ourselves? The West’s convulsions are gathering pace. In America and across the world, there has been uproar over the call by Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump to bar all Muslims from entering the US until its administration can work out what is driving jihadi violence. In France, a political earthquake took place earlier this week when Marine le Pen’s “ultraright” National Front made huge gains in regional elections, taking almost 28 percent of the nationwide vote and raising the prospect that it will control a number of regional councils... Calling Trump a fascist, a Nazi or “just like Hitler,” as many in the West have been doing, displays a mindset ranging from the historically cretinous to the maliciously perverse. Fascism is a totalitarian slave doctrine which deifies the state and its leader, is obsessed with racial purification and is hostile to modernity and reason. Hitler’s Nazism added genocide of the Jews to the brew. Whatever Trump’s flaws, does anyone seriously suggest he wants to kill all Muslims and turn the US into a totalitarian state? And isn’t it more than a little illiberal, not to say incoherent, for people to demand he should be banned from Britain or Israel – on the grounds that he incites hatred by calling for people to be banned? Le Pen has tried strenuously but not altogether convincingly to distance herself from her father, Jean-Marie, whose hatred of Jews is unquestionable. Maybe she really is a fascist in democratic clothing, but her stated program to end all immigration, ban Islamist organizations and close radical mosques and expel foreign hate-preachers makes her merely an uncompromising nationalist. What’s more, such arguments resonate with millions of non-fascist, decent folk. Such people simply want to live in safety and security in countries reflecting their own values and where they can govern themselves. They have concluded that the entire political mainstream has abandoned those elementary elements of a free society – and worse still, demonizes anyone sounding the alarm. The public may not care for either Le Pen or Trump. Yet they have touched a nerve among millions who perceive that they alone are saying what is all too obvious but which mainstream politicians deny: that the European Union is a positive threat to both democracy and public safety; and that Muslim society which pumps out paranoid hatred of the West and of which a sizable part wishes to Islamize the body politic provides the toxic sea in which Islamic terrorism swims. Even now, however, Western elites are continuing to drive the public further into the arms of such maverick politicians. After the San Bernardino Islamist atrocity, Democrats and their media groupies fell over each other to blame instead America’s gun laws. President Obama was finally forced to concede it was terrorism and even acknowledged for the first time that “an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities.” However, his main concern was that this would foment “divisiveness” by people discriminating against Muslims. It would be nice if he could show the same concern for America’s Jews, attacks on whom outstrip attacks on Muslims by four to one. But it’s Islamists who are dividing America... In 2011, Presidential Study Directive 11 defined the Brotherhood as a “moderate” Islamist political entity. Last February, Obama met a number of senior American Muslim leaders amongst whom were some with links to the Brotherhood and organizations linked to funding terrorism. Yet in 1991, the Brotherhood adopted as its plan for North America the “grand mission of civilization jihadist,” which meant “eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” Now it has been revealed by Democratic lawmaker Stephen Lynch that at least 72 employees at the Department of Homeland Security are on the US terrorist watch list. On both sides of the Atlantic, liberals damn those trying to defend the West as fascists or Islamophobes while sanitizing and excusing Islamists bent on mass murder and conquering the West... Iran lied and has violated UN resolutions and the US-led non-deal which is laughably supposed to prevent an Iranian nuclear weapon but in fact will enable it, making ISIS seem like a sprat swimming next to a great white shark. But hey, who cares when there’s the so-much more important fascist threat from Donald Trump to worry about? source: http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/As-I-See-It-Trumping-Hitler-436979

The latest attempt by Western democracies to deal with the ever-growing threat of Islamic radicalization in the prison system has been deemed an utter failure. French officials announced Tuesday that they would no longer isolate inmates with jihadists tendencies from other inmates, or offer therapeutic services or specialized counseling aimed at de-radicalizing Islamic terrorists already in prison. They found that the program actually increased the threat of radicalizing inmates into terrorists rather than diminishing it... Faced with the possibility that as many as 100 inmates convicted of terrorism crimes in the United States will be paroled in the next five years, authorities have had to admit that there is no effective re-radicalization program in place to deal with the very really potential for recidivism. The Justice Department acknowledged we are not prepared to release them. "There are [rehabilitation] programs for drug addicts and gang members [in prison]. There is not one [program] with a proven track record of success for terrorism," Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Carlin said earlier this year. source: www.investigativeproject.org/5686/

How can you criticize the ideology of the Islamic State without also criticizing Islam? And if you can’t criticize Islamic beliefs, how can you defeat the ideology of the Islamic State? Criticize Islamic beliefs? The reason we don’t want to go there is that many consider such criticism to be tantamount to declaring war on Islam. For example, intelligence expert Sebastian Gorka, who makes a very good case for waging ideological war against ISIS et al., also insists that we are not at war with Islam. I understand the prudential reason for saying that. The vernacular expression of the rationale goes something like this: “Do you want to go to war with 1.6 billion Muslims? Still, if you can’t criticize Islam, how can you defeat the ideology of the terrorists — an ideology that is inextricably bound up with Islam? Gorka, along with others, says we should base our fight against terrorism on the Cold War model of our fight against communism. But in the Cold War we didn’t wage ideological war against “perversions” or “misunderstandings” of communism, but against mainstream communism itself. We didn’t urge Russians and East Europeans to practice a more moderate form of communism. We urged them to separate themselves altogether from that pernicious ideology. If we were to follow the Cold War model, we would indeed have to criticize Islam itself — or, at least, many aspects of it. It is faith in Islam, not faith in “violent extremism” that fuels jihad. Jihadists don’t kill people for the hell of it. Over twenty years, fear has already devoured important pieces of Western culture and journalism. They all disappeared in a ghastly act of self-censorship: the cartoons of a Danish newspaper, a "South Park" episode, paintings in London's Tate Gallery, a book published by the Yale University Press; Mozart's Idomeneo, the Dutch film "Submission", the name and face of the US cartoonist Molly Norris, a book cover by Art Spiegelman and Sherry Jones's novel, "Jewel of Medina", to name just a few. Most of them have become ghosts living in hiding, hidden in some country house, or retired to private life, victims of an understandable but tragic self-censorship. Only the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was missing from this sad, long list. Until now. source: https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9425/

The battle against cultural jihad... is now being fought... in workplaces, in school boards, in town councils, and, most of all, in courts. And very few are prepared to fight the battle on that level... The Brotherhood’s preferred method of “eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization” is not warfare, but lawfare... The issue of mosque proliferation... is, according to the bien pensants, a civil rights issue. Thus, if you oppose the construction of a mosque, you are a foe of civil rights... The irony is that once Islam becomes the dominant religion, it doesn’t have any use for religious liberty. In the Muslim world, non-Muslims enjoy few if any religious liberties. In Saudi Arabia there are no churches and Christians can be jailed merely for holding a prayer service in a private home. In large parts of the Muslim Middle East, Christians face extinction. Throughout the Muslim world, Christians live in fear not only of losing their rights but also of losing their lives... If we want an historical analogy to our present situation, we must cast back not to the civil rights struggle of the 1960s, but to the civilizational struggle that Churchill spoke of in his “on the beaches” speech... If they wish to retain their freedoms, Europeans may very soon be forced to fight on the beaches and in the streets and the hills. That’s because they failed to resist Islamization when the fight could still be won by meeting cultural encroachment with peaceful but firm resolve. If we wish to avoid their fate, we must be willing to fight in the school boards and planning boards and in the courts. If we don’t, we will someday have a much grimmer fight on our hands... We shall not flag or fail. We shall defend our homeland, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight in the town councils, we shall fight in the workplaces and in the school boards, we shall fight in the courts and state legislatures. We shall never surrender. source: http://www.catholicworldreport.com/Item/5252/w.aspx

Fascist totalitarianism has returned to Europe

Post  polka23dot on Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:50 am

...Member states of the European Union have implemented what is commonly known as the “Framework Decision”, which is a directive that requires all countries to pass laws that criminalize public incitement to “hatred” against “a group defined by reference to race, colour, religion, descent or national or ethnic origin”. This directive came into force in November 2010, and is binding on all states that signed the Lisbon Treaty.

So, as you can see, we Europeans don’t have any fundamental law that protects us as your First Amendment protects you. Our fundamental laws — which are created by unaccountable bureaucrats in Brussels — actually give license to the state to persecute us. We have no protection from state repression if we choose to criticize Islam.

Most countries in Europe have been gung-ho to implement the EU’s diktat. So many people have been harassed, detained, arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for criticizing Islam that it would be impossible for me to mention them all. To read a full list, even if it were possible to compile one, would take several hours at least.

But let me give you a brief representative sample of Europeans who have been persecuted by their governments for their opinions on Islamization:

From Britain: Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, a.k.a. Tommy Robinson, the founder and leader of the Islam-critical English Defence League, has been tried repeatedly on various contrived charges, and convicted on some of them. Late last year he spent several months in solitary confinement before he even made his first appearance in court.

From Denmark: Lars Hedegaard, a well-known journalist and historian, was tried for describing in a private conversation the tendency for Muslim men to rape their underage female relatives. He was acquitted by a lower court. The prosecutor appealed the case to a higher court, which overturned the acquittal and fined the defendant 5,000 kroner. He appealed the decision to the Danish supreme court, which overturned the conviction again.

From Finland: Jussi Halla-aho, a journalist and local politician, was tried for giving examples in his blog of things about immigrants that were now illegal to say. He was convicted and fined, and lost his appeals to all higher courts. He also lost his position within his party, the True Finns.

From France: Philippe Val, the editor of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, was sued by a Muslim group for publishing the Danish Mohammed cartoons. He was acquitted in court.

From Germany: Michael Stürzenberger was tried for using a photo of Heinrich Himmler as an analogy with Islam. He was acquitted, but the prosecutor is appealing the verdict to a higher court.

From the Netherlands: Geert Wilders, the leader of what may now be the most popular party in the country, was put on trial not once, but twice for expressing his opinions on Islam. After a lengthy and expensive court process, he was acquitted in both cases.

From Sweden: Carl P. Herslow, a local politician, posted a campaign placard of Mohammed and his wife Aisha, with the caption: “He is 53 and she is 9: Is this the kind of wedding you want to see here?” He was charged with “incitement against an ethnic group”, tried, and eventually acquitted.

From Switzerland: Avi Lipkin, a.k.a. Victor Mordecai, was tried and convicted of “inciting hatred or discrimination against a person or a group of persons on the grounds of their race, ethnic origin or religion”. His “crime” was committed during a discussion about the upcoming referendum on the minaret ban, when he read verses from the Koran requiring Muslims to hate Christians and Jews. He was convicted.

That was an alphabetical list, but I left out Austria, because that case is my own.

Fascist totalitarianism has returned to my country. This time it does not come with the ring of jackboots on the cobblestones. No one’s door is battered down in the middle of the night. No cattle cars haul innocent victims away to an unknown destination.

This is a soft totalitarianism. It wears a business suit, smiles, and speaks in reasonable tones in the name of tolerance and diversity.

This time its victims are the natives of Austria, who are being deliberately replaced with a violent, barbaric, alien culture.

I am one of those victims.

For a number of years I have been giving educational seminars on Islam, sponsored by the Austrian Freedom Party. They are designed to educate people about the realities of Islam.

I learned those realities first-hand: I have lived in Iran, Kuwait, and Libya. As a little girl in Tehran, I watched the beginnings of Khomeini’s revolution. I was held hostage in Kuwait when Saddam Hussein invaded in 1990. And I watched people dance for joy in the streets of Tripoli on 9-11...

Western janissaries and brownshirts of Islam

Post  polka23dot on Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:51 am

The Left acts now as the janissaries of Islam, as ideologues and Sturmabteilung [brownshirts] of another totalitarian system, for the moment tolerated and drafted into Islam's cause to swell the numbers of Islam's brigades and to handle the rough stuff in protests and demonstrations and clashes with the targets of the day. And when Islam's battles are won, the Left will act surprised when the executioners knock on their door and escort its members to killing fields that resemble Pol Pot's and to camps modeled on Auschwitz. They would be slaughtered by the bushel in the name of Allah, because they worshipped false gods or no gods and proposed a godless global government. source: http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/the-clueless-left-and-islam

Israel gets disproportionate amount of media coverage because decades of Arab and leftist propaganda has sought to portray the embattled country as an aggressor rather than a victim. When Israel was created (by a UN proposal to create a Jewish and Arab state out of Palestine), the local Arabs, and most Arab countries, refused to go along and declared war on the Jews. Many Arabs had supported the Nazis during World War II and partly because of that the West generally supported Israel at first. But as the decades rolled on, Israel kept defeating Arab attempts to destroy it. Arab propaganda, fueled by massive oil wealth, took on an anti-Semitic and genocidal tone, and Western leftists, especially after the Cold War ended (leaving many European leftists in search of a new cause) gradually came to agree with the Arabs. Western leftists have long been anti-clerical (hostile to religion) and would rather ignore the sufferings of non-Moslems worldwide than offend their new Islamic allies and victims of Jewish oppression. Anti-Semitism has also been present among many Western reformers and progressives. That has evolved to the point where it’s politically correct to be anti-Semitic again and ignore the persecution of Christians and other infidels in the Islamic world. source: http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htmurph/articles/20131007.aspx

There are two Middle East studies organizations in North America:
1. Middle East Studies Association of North America (often referred to as MESA) was founded in 1966 by Bernard Lewis and lesser scholars. It was initially an academic organization, but now it is a tool of Wahhabi propaganda. Most of its members are Saudi sponsored Marxists.
2. The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) was founded in 2007 by Bernard Lewis when it became obvious that MESA was a tool of Wahhabi propaganda.

Lately you can’t help stumbling across an endless series of newspaper articles denouncing Sri Lanka for “persecuting” its Muslim minority. The latest horrifying act of persecution by the Buddhist country is a proposal to ban various Burka like arguments that oppress women and make any country a paradise for all sorts of criminals who can walk the streets in full body disguises. Meanwhile when Bangladesh Islamists declare that their aim is a “Hinduless Bangladesh” and attack Hindu temples, no one notices or cares. In Nigeria, Boko Haram, an Islamist group, has destroyed 50 of the 52 Catholic churches in a single diocese, has openly called for the ethnic cleansing of Christians and has killed thousands, but Obama Inc. has refused to add it to the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations allowing Muslims in America to continue subsidizing its atrocities. The real question here is why are Muslim lives more important than the lives of everyone else? Why are Muslim lives in Sri Lanka more important than the lives of the Buddhists they take in Thailand? Why are they more important in India than the lives of the Hindus they take in Bangladesh? Why are they more important than the Christian lives that Muslims take in Syria and Nigeria and Pakistan? Why is the left of a Muslim terrorist in Israel more important than the life of his Jewish victim? Saudi Arabia placed a blood price of $80,000 on a Muslim man, $40,000 for a Muslim woman or Christian man. For a Hindu or Buddhist man, the price was less than $2000. For a Hindu or Buddhist woman, the price of their lives that their murderer could pay to be free of punishment was less than $1000. Why has the civilized world accepted these barbaric Koranic definitions of Muslim worth? Why does it accept the obscene Islamic idea that a Muslim life is worth more than any other life? Why does it display feverish outrage when a Muslim is killed, but shrugs its shoulders when a Muslim kills a Hindu, a Buddhist, a Jew or a Christian? source: http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/are-muslim-lives-worth-more-than-hindu-or-christian-lives/

Amnesty International justifies Palestinian terrorism: www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/13259

Over the last few decades, and especially since the end of the Cold War, many Westerners have adopted the anti-Semitic angle in denouncing Israeli attempts to defend itself against Palestinian terrorism. Such self-defense measures are now seriously discussed as "war crimes" in the West. To the Arabs, the very existence of Israel is a "war crime," but the Arabs have been unable to do much beyond fanaticizing about destroying Israel and teaching a new generation that even the historical facts of Jews in the Middle East are lies. Now they have many political activists and progressive thinkers in the West fanaticizing along with them. Tangible gains from this ethnic hatred strategy have been scant so far. Many in the West are appalled by it, and the leadership in most Western nations does not buy into it. But much of the popular media does, and incidents of anti-Semitism, including assault and murder, are on the increase in Europe. Arabs see their anti-Semitism strategy as a success, as Arabs tend to take solace in symbolism, given their lack of substantial progress in destroying Israel. So every anti-Semitic attack in Europe is a victory, as is every European politician who denounces Israel for non-existent war crimes, or ignores the very real atrocities that the Arabs commit against each other. To many Arabs, living the fantasy is easier than dealing with reality. source: http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htiw/articles/20130515.aspx

How the Left Conquered Wikipedia: http://frontpagemag.com/2011/david-swindle/how-the-left-conquered-wikipedia-part-1/

The official Saudi newspaper in English, Ain al-Yaqeen, published an article on March 1, 2002 describing the Kingdom’s efforts at supporting Islam worldwide. It claimed that the Kingdom had spent “astronomical” sums of many billions establishing thousands of mosques, madrassas and Islamic centres in non-Muslim countries in Europe, North and South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. Among the biggest projects was the King Fahd Islamic Center in Malaga, Spain. In addition, the Kingdom has established a number of academic chairs in some of the most respected universities in the developed world in order to “encourage understanding of the true nature of Islam by explaining clearly Muslim beliefs and by correcting misconceptions and misrepresentations”. Especially mentioned are the King Abdul Aziz Chair in Islamic Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara; the King Fahd Chair in Islamic Sharia Studies at the College of Law at Harvard University; the King Fahd Chair in Islamic Studies at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) at the university of London and the provision of a resident professor for the Prince Naif Department for Islamic Studies at the University of Moscow. source: http://babsbarron.freedombulwark.com/archives/179

On behalf of the Obama Administration, in September 2014 the US Secretary of State John Kerry made a plea to wipe out poverty and improve health and education as the most powerful antidote to the “toxic” beliefs of Islamic extremists. The Marxist-inspired argument that Islamic terrorism is caused by poverty is plain wrong and has been disproven many times. Several studies indicate that Islamic terrorist have above-average education and at least average income. Some come from very wealthy families. Osama bin Laden grew up in Saudi Arabia as a son of a billionaire. Saudi Arabia was never under European colonial rule. Instead, it is the cradle of one of the world’s most brutal imperialist traditions, the Arab cultural imperialism we call Islam... Quite a few Europeans voice sympathy for certain Jihadist terrorists such as Hamas. It is very disturbing to see some Europeans and Westerners fascinated by the very same ideological forces who are trying to subdue or kill them. It is an ominous sign that does not bode well for the future. A new darkness is descending upon Europe. Some Europeans seem enthralled by this darkness. source: http://gatesofvienna.net/2014/09/myths-about-islamic-terrorism/

It is the height of cognitive dissonance when feminists, gay rights activists and other social progressives express support for religious extremists who persecute and kill based on gender, sexuality, and dissenting religious belief or political opinion, but condemn Israel – the only country in the Mideast where minorities have equal rights and protections under the law. source: www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/16085

Stop Islamization of Nations (SION)

Post  polka23dot on Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:59 am

Stockholm was a wild success, far exceeding expectations on so many levels. After an extraordinary rally at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm, the heads of the leading worldwide counter-jihad organizations held a series of workshops and planning meetings. What has emerged from an intense forty-eight hour strategy session is the first activist leadership team uniting counter-jihadists in Europe, the U.S., and Australia: the President's Council of Stop Islamization of Nations (SION).

The initial members of the President's Council are SIOE's Anders Gravers; Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll of the EDL; Debbie Robinson of the Q Society of Australia, Robert Spencer and me. The members of the newly formed council unanimously voted to elect me Council President. I am honored. This is a momentous beginning to what I am confident will become a powerful force for defending freedom worldwide.

The President's Council differs from the SION Board, which includes Swiss parliamentarian Oskar Freysinger; Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media; Ashraf Rameleh of Voice of the Copts; Ali Sina, the renowned ex-Muslim author and founder of FaithFreedom.org; Wafa Sultan, the ex-Muslim human rights activist and author; the German pro-freedom activist Stefan Herre of Politically Incorrect; the Israeli author Dr. Mordechai Kedar; the Hindu human rights activist Babu Suseelan; and Anders Gravers of Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE).

This Board functions in an advisory capacity, while the President's Council is a steering committee. It functions as a mobile, proactive, reactive on-the-ground team developing and executing confidential action plans that strike at the heart of the global anti-freedom agenda.

Our next initiative will be the first session of the International Freedom Defense Congress, which will be held in New York on September 11, 2012. The principal focus of the Congress will be a media workshop pertaining to Islamic supremacist attempts to restrict the freedom of speech in the free world, and the smear campaigns against freedom fighters in newspapers and media institutions in the West.

The objective of this first-of-its-kind workshop is to develop media-related mechanisms to address the smear campaigns. It will also address the media's double standard regarding Islam and other religions. The Congress will discuss at length the reasons behind and the results of the Western media's offensive campaigns against freedom of speech and the truth about Islam, jihad, Islamic supremacism and Muslims.

The International Freedom Defense Congress will represent a quantum leap in media action, as it discusses, beyond rhetoric, the practical steps to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech.

This is history in the making; don't miss it. Email media@sionations.org to register.

Gavin Boby is a British lawyer and invincible mosquebuster

Post  polka23dot on Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:04 pm

You need a new mosque in your neighborhood as much as you need a nuclear waste dump. Gavin Boby is a British lawyer who can stop the mosque before it is built. To be effective, Gavin Boby must know the planning application for the mosque early. If you have some spare time, it is your civic duty to call the authorities every week and ask them if there is a planning application for a mosque or a crypto-mosque. A crypto-mosque is any building where Muslims practice Islam (madrassa, Muslim community center, Muslim cultural center, Muslim multi-faith center, etc.). If there is a planning application for a mosque or a crypto-mosque, spread the news in your community and contact Gavin Boby.

Euphemisms translated into plain English

Post  polka23dot on Wed Jul 16, 2014 8:28 am

- Militants: This is a term frequently used by CNN, Reuters, the Associated Press, The New York Times, and other media, even Fox News. It is a nice way to avoid using "terrorist" for someone who has just blown himself up in a shopping mall or bus or whose organization has unleashed indiscriminate rocket attacks against cities.
- Arab Spring: This is a euphemism coined by superficial journalists and Western leaders to cover up for wishful thinking masquerading as cold analysis.
- Man-made disasters, workplace violence, lone gunmen: These are politically correct and factually inaccurate metaphors used by the Obama Administration to describe the Fort Hood terror attack, the abortive mid-plane bombing attempt over Detroit, and the abortive Times Square bombing, among others.
- Political Protest: This is what President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Susan Rice call the storming of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, the taking of the U.S. Consulate in Libya and the murder-sodomy rape of a U.S. ambassador.
- Intifada: This is a word used by Arabs to describe violent and often terroristic battles with Israel.

It’s Time to Take the Islamic State Seriously

Post  T.J. Donatello on Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:02 pm

Islam has no central or definitive body or figure authorized to define what exactly it is. Opinions about its essence and scope vary widely according to the political or philosophic background of its own interpreters. The current effort to establish an Islamic State, with a designated Caliph, again to take up the mission assigned to Islam, brings to our attention the question: “What is Islam?”

The issue of “terror” is a further aspect of this same understanding. Many outside Islam seek to separate “terror” and “Islam” as if they were, in their usage, independent or even opposed ideas. This latter view is almost impossible seriously to maintain in the light of Islamic history and the text of the Qur’an itself.

John Kerry, however, insists that what we see is “terrorism” with nothing to do with Islam. The Obama administration seems to have a rule never to identify Islam with “terrorism,” no matter what the evidence or what representatives of the Islamic State themselves say. The vice-president speaks of “Hell” in connection with actions of the Islamic State. Diane Feinstein speaks of “evil” behind the current slaughters in Iraq and Syria. The pope mentions “stopping aggression.” The English hate-laws prevent frank and honest discussion of what actually goes on in Islamic countries or communities in the West. Not even Winston Churchill’s critical view of Islam is permitted to be read in public.

Ecumenism and liberalism both, in their differing ways, because of their commitment to tolerance and free speech, make it difficult to deal with what is happening in Islamic states. Islam is not friendly to relativism or to subtle distinctions.

Is terror intrinsic to Islam?

What I want to propose here is an opinion. An opinion is a position that sees the plausibility but not certainty of a given proposition. But I think this opinion is well-grounded and makes more sense both of historic and of present Islam than most of the other views that are prevalent. I do not conceive this reflection as definitive. Nor do I document it in any formal sense, though it can be. It is a view that, paradoxically, has, I think, more respect for Islam than most of its current critics or advocates.

This comment is an apologia, as it were, for the Islamic State at least in the sense that it accepts its sincerity and religious purpose. It understands how, in its own terms, the philosophic background that enhances its view does, in its own terms, justify its actions, including the violent ones.

The Islamic State and the broader jihadist movements throughout the world that agree with it are, I think, correct in their basic understanding of Islam. Plenty of evidence is found, both in the long history of early Muslim military expansion and in its theoretical interpretation of the Qur’an itself, to conclude that the Islamic State and its sympathizers have it basically right. The purpose of Islam, with the often violent means it can and does use to accomplish it, is to extend its rule, in the name of Allah, to all the world. The world cannot be at “peace” until it is all Muslim. The “terror” we see does not primarily arise from modern totalitarian theories, nationalism, or from anywhere else but what is considered, on objective evidence, to be a faithful reading of a mission assigned by Allah to the Islamic world, which has been itself largely procrastinating about fulfilling its assigned mission.

To look elsewhere for an explanation is simply not to see what the Islamic State and its friends are telling us about why they act as they do. The tendency among pragmatic Western thinkers, locked into their own narrow views, is to exclude any such motivation as an excuse of raw power. This view shows the intellectual shortcomings of Western leaders and the narrowness of much Western thought.

Jihadism, as it were, is a religious movement before it is anything else. Allah does grant violence a significant place. It is over the truth of this position, or better the inability to disprove it, that the real controversy lies. A recent essay in the American Thinker calculated that over the years of its expansion, from its beginning in the seventh and eighth centuries, some 250 million people have been killed in wars and persecutions caused by Islam. Nothing else in the history of the world, including the totalitarianisms of the last century, has been so lethal.

If Islam is a religion of peace, what sort of peace does it bring?

Other understandings of Islam’s record, though not its mission, within Islam may be also plausible, but no more so than this jihadist interpretation. It may be possible for some to read Islam as a religion of “peace.” But its “peace,” in its own terms, means the peace of Allah within its boundaries. With the rest of the outside world, it is at war in order to accomplish a religious purpose, namely, to have all submitted to Allah in the passive way that the Qur’an specifies.

Islam can at times be defeated or stopped, as at Tours or Vienna, but it will always rise again as it is now bent on so doing. To picture the jihadists and leaders of the Islamic State as mere “terrorists” or thugs is to use Western political terms to blind ourselves to the religious dynamism of this movement. No wonder our leaders cannot or will not understand it. This purpose, when successful, is a terrible thing. But we are not seeing a group of gangsters, as many are wont to maintain. The roots of Islam are theological, rather bad theology, but still coherent within its own orbit and presuppositions.

Briefly put, Islam, in its founding, is intended to be, literally, the world religion. Nothing else has any standing in comparison. It is to bring the whole world to worship Allah according to the canons of the Qur’an. It is a belief, based on a supposed revelation to Mohammed, of which there is little evidence. Sufficient justification to expand this religion, once founded, to all the world by use of arms is found in the Qur’an and in its interpreters to explain the violent means used, often successfully, to establish, pacify, and rule tribes, states, territories, and empires.

In Muslim doctrine, everyone born into the world is a Muslim. No one has any right or reason not to be. Hence, everyone who is not a Muslim is to be converted or eliminated. This is also true of the literary, monumental, and other signs of civilizations or states that are not Muslim. They are destroyed as not authorized by the Qur’an.

It is the religious responsibility of Islam to carry out its assigned mission of subduing the world to Allah. When we try to explain this religion in economic, political, psychological, or other terms, we simply fail to see what is going on. From the outside, it is almost impossible to see how this system coheres within itself. But, granted its premises and the philosophy of voluntarism used to explain and defend it, it becomes much clearer that we are in fact dealing with a religion that claims to be true in insisting that it is carrying out the will of Allah, not its own.

If we are going to deal with it, we have to do so on those terms, on the validity of such a claim. The trouble with this approach, of course, is that truth, logos, is not recognized in a voluntarist setting. If Allah transcends the distinction of good and evil, if he can will today its opposite tomorrow, as the omnipotence of Allah is understood to mean in Islam, then there can be no real discussion that is not simply a temporary pragmatic stand-off, a balance of interest and power.

Whenever incidents of violence are witnessed in the Islamic world, or in other parts of the world caused by Islamic agents, we hear complaints that almost no Muslim voices rise to condemn this violence. When the original 9/11 happened, there was not condemnation coming from within Islam, but widespread celebration. Islam was seen as winning. But all Muslim scholars know that they cannot, on the basis of the Qur’an, condemn the use of violence to expand their religion. There is simply too much evidence that this usage is permitted. To deny it would be to undermine the integrity of the Qur’an.

Obviously, the enemies of the Islamic State and its jihadist allies are not only the “Crusaders” or the West. Some of Islam’s bloodiest wars were its invasion of Hindu India, where the tension remains marked. There are also Muslim efforts into China. The Philippines has a major problem as does Russia. But Islam wars with itself. The Sunni/Shiite struggles are legendary. It is important to note that one of the first things on the Islamic State’s agenda, if it is successful in surviving, is to unite all of Islam in its creedal unity.

The unfinished business from Tours and Vienna

All existing Islamic states are some sort of compromise between the true Islamic mission and forces, usually military forces that limit this world-wide unification. Almost all standing Muslim governments recognize the danger to themselves of a successful Caliphate. They all have some form of jihadist presence within their boundaries that seek to control it in the name of their very survival. There are or were Christian and other minorities within these states that are, to a greater or lesser extent, tolerated. But they are all, as non-Muslims, treated as second-class citizens. The Islamic movement renews that purist side of Islam that insists in eradicating or expelling non-Muslim presences in Muslim lands.

The Archbishop of Mosul, on seeing his people exiled and killed, forced to choose between conversion and death, empathized that his buildings were destroyed, the archives and all record of the long Christian presence in that area destroyed. He warned that this form of treatment is what the nations of the West could expect sooner or later. There are now significant Muslim enclaves in every part of America and Europe to be of great concern as centers of future uprisings within each city. There are now thousands of mosques in Europe and America, financed largely by oil money, that are parts of a closed enclave that excludes local law and enforces Muslim law.

Yet, we can ask: is this Islamic State anything more than a pipe-dream? No Islamic state has any serious possibility of defeating modern armies. But, ironically, they no longer think that modern armies will be necessary. They are convinced that widespread use of terrorism and other means of civil disorder can be successful. No one really has the will or the means to control the destructive forces that the Islamic State already has in place.

The Islamic State strategists think it is quite possible to take another step in the expansion of Islam, to take up again the assault on Europe left off at Tours and Vienna. Muslim armies have always been known for cruelty and craftiness. Men often shrank in fear before its threat, as they are intended to do. A Muslim theoretician once remarked that their aim was to make the streets of Western cities look like those battlefields we see in the cities of the Middle East. Again with the suicide bomber and believers in their use, for which they are said to be “martyrs,” this may be possible.

Finally, the case of the Islamic State and of the jihadists is not just a threat arising out of Islam’s mission to conquer the world for Allah. It is also a moral case, that the life of the West is atheist and decadent. It does not deserve its prosperity and position. The mission of mankind is the submission to Allah in all things. Once this submission is in place, the sphere of war will be over. No more beheading or car-bombings will be necessary or tolerated. No dissent within Islam will be possible or permitted. All will be at peace under the law of Islam. This is the religious purpose of the Islamic State. It is folly to think of it in any other terms.

But with great opposition both from the West and from within Islamic states to this vision, is there any possibility of its success? Pat Buchanan thought that a group of Seals one of these days would eliminate the new Caliph. Existing Muslim government officials know that their days are numbered if the Islamic State succeeds. But, at the same time, this vision does seem to be the real impetus of the Islamic peoples.

It is easy to write this movement off as fanatical and ruthless, which it is. To the outside world, it sounds horrific, but I suspect not to those who believe its truth and see the current revival of Islam with relief. The second or third class ranking of Islam in the modern world is over. But to the degree that we misjudge what is motivating the renewal of Islam, we will never understand why it exists as it does.
