Koran, Hadiths, Sira, and Sharia

Post  polka23dot on Sun May 06, 2012 7:34 am

The Arab conquerors, in their coins and inscriptions, did not mention Islam or the Koran for six decades after their first conquests. They mentioned Muhammad, sometimes accompanied by a cross. Robert Spencer (and to some degree Tom Holland and Muhammad Sven Kalisch) believe that prophet Muhammad was actually anti-Trinitarian Christian leader, and that Islam was cobbled together by brutal governor of Iraq, Hajjaj ibn Yusuf around 700, because he needed strong ideology to unify his Bedouin empire. Muhammad was not a prophet because he did not prophesize anything. The followers of Muhammad were not called Muslims. One of the most popular names for them was Hagarians.

Most English translations of the Koran are sugar coated. source: islammonitor.org/index.php?view=article&catid=180&id=4408

Usama Dakdok made the best English translation of the Koran (The Generous Qur’an, 2009). Unlike the sugar coated translations made by Muslims, Dakdok's translation is literal and true to the original Arabic. Dakdok included a list of abrogated verses and an index of Arabic words to help the reader broaden his understanding. He also provided background information from the Hadiths for some passages to explain their context and origin. You can buy it in a computer format (epub mobi pdf rtf lrf pdb txt html) from: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/491841

The greatest memorizers and reciters of the Qur'an couldn't agree on what was authentic and what was false, and compiled conflicting Qur'ans; Ibn Mas'ud's Manuscript contained 111 Surahs, Ibn Thabit's Manuscript contained 114 Surahs, and Ibn Ka'b's Manuscript contained 116 Surahs. Other Companions such as Ibn Malik, Al-Ash'ari and Muhammad's uncle Ibn 'Abbas also spoke of a lost Surah containing an anecdote pertaining to the Son of Adam.

Koran is made of 114 chapters called surahs. 71 surahs have abrogating or abrogated verses. Sharia law does not take into account peaceful verses because they have been abrogated. The first 9 chapters are the longest and the most important.

The 1972 discovery of the earliest surviving Koranic manuscripts in the Great Mosque of Sana'a in Yemen proves that the present Koran is different from the early manuscripts. I wonder which Koran is kept in Muslim heaven.

"Abbas the uncle of the Prophet said: ’Men of the Khazraj, do you know what you are pledging yourselves to in swearing allegiance to this man?’ ‘Yes,’ they answered. ‘In swearing allegiance to him we are pledging ourselves to wage war against all mankind.’" sources: Ishaq:204/TabariVI:134

Muhammad was a crossdresser:
"The revelation does not come to me when I am in the garment of any woman except A'isha." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, 2442 (source: bewley.virtualave.net/bukhari20.html)

Armin Geus is a German medical historian. According to his book ("The sickness of the prophet"), Muhammad had a "paranoid-hallucinatory schizophrenia with defined delusional imaginings and characteristic sensual deceptions". source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armin_Geus

Muhammad was not an Arab, but a white man who lived among the Arabs.
In Hadith no.63,vol 1, it says: "When a man arrived at the mosque, he asked, "who amongst you is Muhammad?" The companions of the prophet replied "THIS WHITE MAN RECLINING ON HIS ARM".
In Hadith no.122, vol 2 and in vol 2 Hadith no. 141, when Muhammad raised his arms in prayer, it tells us that 'The WHITENESS of his armpits became visible".
The Hadith vol 1, no. 367 tells us that Anas, one of Muhammad's trusted companions "saw the WHITENESS of the penis of Allah's prophet".

"Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Volume 6, Book 61, Number 510

“It must be emphasized that far from there being a single text [of the Koran] passed down inviolate from the time of Uthman’s commission, literally thousands of variant readings of particular verses were known.... These variants affected even the Uthmanic codex, making it difficult to know what its true original form may have been.” source: Adams, C. E. “Quran: The Text and Its History.” In ER, pp. 157-76.

Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Yasa'r was the first man to collect and record the oral traditions in regard to Muhammad... Ishaq's record remains lost except for having been "preserved" by ibn Hisham who died in 833. Unfortunately Hisham admitted Ishaq: 691 "I am omitting things which Ishaq recorded in this book. I have omitted things which are disgraceful to discuss and matters which would distress certain people." source: http://www.brotherpete.com/banu_qurayza_massacre.htm

’Ibn Umar al–Khattab explicitly admits, "Let no one of you say that he has acquired the entire Qur’an for how does he know that it is all? Much of the Qur’an has been lost, thus let him say, ‘I have acquired of it what is available’" - Suyuti: Itqan, part 3, page 72

"The verses of stoning and breast feeding were in the possession of A’isha in a (Qur’anic) copy. When Muhammad died and people became busy in the burial preparations, a domesticated animal entered in and ate it." - Ibn Hazm source: http://www.answering-islam.org/BehindVeil/btv12.html

"We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara'at. I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it:" If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust." And we used so recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Musabbihat, and I have forgotten it, but remember (this much) out of it." - Sahih Muslim Hadith, Book 5, Number 2286

"Narrated Ibn Abbas: Umar said, 'Ubai was the best of us in the recitation (of the Qur'an) yet we leave some of what he recites.' Ubai says, 'I have taken it from the mouth of Allah's Apostle and will not leave for anything whatever.'" - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Volume 6, Book 61, Number 527

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Volume 3, Book 48, Number 826

"Narrated Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death)." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64

Muhammad married his his daughter-in-law. Her name was Zaynab Bintu Jahsh. She was twenty-three years younger than Muhammad and she was related to Muhammad's mother.

Narrated by Abu Bakra: During the days (of the battle) of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a word I had heard from Allah's Apostle after I had been about to join the Companions of Al-Jamal (i.e. the camel) and fight along with them. When Allah's Apostle was informed that the Persians had crowned the daughter of Khosrau as their ruler, he said, "Such people as ruled by a lady will never be successful." - Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 059, Number 709

"Based upon the Sira (biography of Mohammed), Islam is 2% peace, 28% argument and threats, and 70% jihad. If the Sira were a two-hour movie, then the peaceful part would last for nearly 3 minutes, the fist fights, brawls, arguments and threats would last 34 minutes, and the killing would take up 83 minutes." source: http://www.islam-watch.org/Bill/Found-Peaceful-Islam.htm

According to Moorthy Muthuswamy, an expert on political Islam, “61 percent of the Koran talks ill of unbelievers or calls for their violent conquest and subjugation, but only 2.6 percent talks about the overall good of humanity...” It’s a similar story when you turn to the sira, the biographies of Muhammad. Take the earliest of these, the one written by Ibn Ishaq. Of the 130 short chapters which detail the life of Muhammad after his arrival in Medina, over 70 are about raids, battles, and assassinations or else they are about preparations for raids and battles, division of spoils, odes upon battles, names of those who fought, etc. According to a content analysis done by Bill Warner of the Center for the Study of Political Islam, at least 75% of the sira is about jihad. source: http://frontpagemag.com/2010/07/08/an-invented-tale-2/

"As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power." - Koran (5:38)

“I have been made victorious with terror.” - Muhammad (according to Bukhari Hadith: 4.52.220)

The apostle said, ‘Kill any Jew that falls into your power.’ Thereupon Muhayyisa b. Mas'ud leapt upon Ibn Sunayna, a Jewish merchant with whom they had social and business relations, and killed him. Huwayyisa was not a Muslim at the time though he was the elder brother. When Muhayyisa killed him [Ibn Sunayna] Huwayyisa began to beat him [Muhayyisa], saying, ‘You enemy of God, did you kill him when much of the fat on your belly comes from his wealth?’ Muhayyisa answered, ‘Had the one who ordered me to kill him ordered me to kill you I would have cut your head off.’ He said that this was the beginning of Huwayyisa’s acceptance of Islam. The other replied, ‘By God, if Muhammad had ordered you to kill me would you have killed me?’ He [Muhayyisa] said, ‘Yes, by God, had he ordered me to cut off your head I would have done so.’ He [Huwayyisa] exclaimed, ‘By God, a religion which can bring you to this is marvellous!’ and he became a Muslim.  sources: The Life of Muhammad, by Ibn Ishaq,  translation by Alfred Guillaume, p.369. http://markdurie.blogspot.com.au/2013/02/is-violence-sign-of-islams-violence-or.html

“My idea is that the Quran is a kind of cocktail of texts that were not all understood even at the time of Muhammad. Many of them may even be a hundred years older than Islam itself. The Quran claims for itself that it is ‘mubeen’, or clear. But [contrary to popular belief] if you look at it, you will notice that every fifth sentence or so simply does not make sense… the fact is that a fifth of the Quranic text is just incomprehensible. If the Quran is not comprehensible, if it can’t even be understood in Arabic, then it’s not translatable into any language. That is why Muslims are afraid. Since the Quran claims repeatedly to be clear but is not—there is an obvious and serious contradiction. Something else must be going on”. - Gerd R. Puin of Saarland University, Germany (source: Ibn Warraq, "The Quest for Historical Muhammad." Prometheus books, New York, 2000, p. 739–44, http://www.islam-watch.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=46:earliest-quranic-manuscripts-of-sanaa-downfall-of-islam&catid=78:sujit&Itemid=58)

Koran is full of internal contradictions, scientific errors and historical blunders. 54:19 mentions Aad was destroyed in a day but 69:6,7 mentions Aad was destroyed in seven nights and eight days; 19:17 shows an angel appeared to Mary but 3:42 shows several angels appeared; 28:40 mentions pharaoh drowned and died but 10:92 states that the same pharaoh was saved; 18:86 states that sun sets in a muddy spring of water; 15:19 mentions earth is flat; 86:6,7 states that semen emits from between back-bone and the ribs; 19:27,28 states that Mary was the sister of Aaron, whereas history shows they were born about 1300 years apart; 28:8 tells that pharaoh and Haman were living at the same time and place whereas history clearly shows they were born about 1000 years apart and pharaoh lived in Egypt and Haman lived in Shushan city in Persia; and 4:157 says that Jesus was not crucified whereas it is crystal clear in historical records that Jesus was crucified and not another man who looked like Jesus. By the way, the transliterated name of Jesus in arabic Quran is Isa but even this is wrong because the name of Esau, brother of Jacob (Yaqub in arabic) is Isa in arabic. The correct transliterated name of Jesus in arabic is Yasu. Isa (Esau) means ‘hairy’ and Yasu (Jesus) means ‘God saves.’ source: http://islam-watch.org/LeavingIslam/Why-I-Quit-Islam.htm

- The Quran is full with major scientific errors. The myth of scientific miracles is designed to cover up those errors.
- The Quran is full with grammatical and other language errors that would never be accepted in any other book or from any other writer.
- The Quran has been deliberately wrapped by confusing sound and visual effects so that it doesn't look like a normal book when heard or read.
- The Quran is full with repetitions of stories that have no relevance to our time, or even to Mohammed's time. Such repetitions account for nearly one thirds of the book.
- Some verses are incomplete, while others contain irrelevant insertions or seem to be completely out of place. It is likely that the scribes or the people who collected the Quran committed such errors.
- There is almost no resemblance at all between the Meccan verses and the Medina verses, a fact well known to Muslims. However, the Muslims' explanations are not convincing. We do not expect Allah to change his style or dialect when Mohammed moves from one place to another. A more logical explanation is that the authors or Mohammed's sources have changed.
- Humans' errors of the scribes and the people responsible of the early collections of the Quran may account for many of its errors. Some verses could have been included more than once (hence the excessive repetitions) and some may have been misplaced or gone completely missing.

Muslim activists emphasize that Islam is a religion of peace. They say that “Islam” is derived from the Arabic word “Salam,” meaning peace, while Islam, in fact, means “Surrender” (to the will of Allah). To prove that Islam stands for peace, Muslims often quote certain verses out of the early period of the Quranic revelation. Here are some of them. “Let there be no compulsion in religion.” Surah 2: 256 “And have patience with what they (opponents) say, and leave them with noble (dignity).” Surah 73:10 However, what Muslim advocates deliberately fail to say is that the peaceful verses from the Meccan period have been abrogated (nullified) and replaced by the militant verses of the Medinan period. These verses were written after Mohammed moved to Medina, abandoned his peaceful approach and resorted to using the sword. As an example of the abrogation, 124 verses of the Quran that call for tolerance, peace, and patience have been canceled and replaced by this one single verse: "Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war.)” Surah 9:5 source: "The Islamization of America" by Abdullah Al-Araby, http://infidelnation.org/DOWNLOADS/TheIslamizationofAmericaTheIsl.zip

"The Quran’s later, more violent passages abrogate its earlier, peaceful ones. This concept, called nasikh wa-l-mansukh, has effectively diminished the influence of the peaceful verses… The concept of al-fikr kufr (is) the idea that the very act of thinking (fikr) makes one an infidel (kufr)… Dr. Wafa Sultan in the US, Abdul Fatah in Egypt, and many others have received and continue to receive death threats. Recently, Dr. Nawal Al-Sadawi, a liberal Muslim thinker and women’s rights activist, was forced to flee Egypt because of her public statements. Dr. Rashad Khalifa was murdered in the United States after he published his own re-interpretation of the Quran which was less violent than was traditional. In Egypt, Dr. Faraq Fuddah was shot to death after publishing condemnations of Jihadists. Egyptian Nobel Prize winner Najib Mahfouz was stabbed in the neck for writing his novel, Awlad Haretna, perceived by Salafists as blasphemous." - Tawfiq Hamid, source: http://www.futureofmuslimworld.com/printVersion/print_pub.asp?pubID=63

The standard Koran is arranged by length of chapter. The longest chapter is at the beginning and the shortest chapters are at the end. This makes it confusing and hard to understand. Now you can read and understand A SIMPLE KORAN. The words of the Koran are woven back into the historical life of Mohammed. In actual fact, the Koran did unfold over the course of Mohammed's life. A SIMPLE KORAN recreates the historical order of the Koran of Mohammed's day. The first chapters start with Mohammed's first recitations and the last chapters are those he recited before he died. Mohammed's life gives the Koran clarity and meaning. It becomes a powerful, epic story. Read A SIMPLE KORAN. The reason the so-called Muslim “extremists” are so successful at recruiting, keeping, inspiring, and mobilizing people — and then finally getting them to wage jihad — is that what they’re saying is fully consistent with the teachings of Muhammad. For an intelligent 20-something-year-old, if you say, “Don’t believe me; just read it in the Koran,” he will understand. And then he must make a choice. He must choose whether to stick with Islam or not. source: http://www.samharris.org/blog/item/lifting-the-veil-of-islamophobia

According to sharia law: Arab women cannot marry non-Arab men because Allah has chosen the Arabs above others. (w42.0, p.942). TV is unlawful (w50.10, p.964). Ramadan was a non-Muslim pagan Arab festival: http://freethoughtblogs.com/taslima/2012/07/21/ramadan-was-a-pagan-arab-festival-2/

Imām Shāfiī, founder of one of the four great schools of jurisprudence, said:
It is not allowed for anyone to give a Shariah explanation (fatwā), except one who knows the Holy Qur’ān completely including what verses are abrogated and by which verses they were abrogated, and which verses resemble each other in the Qur’ān and whether a chapter was revealed in Makkah or Madina. He must know the entire corpus of the Hadith of the Prophet (s), both those which are authentic and those which are false. He must know the Arabic language of the time of the Prophet (s) with its grammar and eloquence as well as know the poetry of the Arabs. Additionally he must know the culture of the various peoples who live in each different nation of the community. If a person has all such attributes combined in himself, he may speak on what is permitted (halal) and what is forbidden (haram). Otherwise he has no right to issue a fatwā. source: http://islamicsupremecouncil.org/understanding-islam/legal-rulings/52-understanding-islamic-law.html

Just about any Moslem can issue a fatwas. The more senior Islamic scholars and clerics are constantly trying to neutralize the effects of self-proclaimed "religious authorities" issuing defective (in terms of law or interpretation) fatwas. This has become a serious problem with the availability of satellite television and radio, which can spread a bad fatwa (like one that falsely accuses someone of being a heretic and calls on all Moslems to try and kill the poor guy). This was never a problem in pre-radio days. Back then, a fatwa was simply a religious interpretation (or just opinion) given to a small group of people, or an individual. But now, an inspiring (and often unscrupulous) preacher can get on satellite TV or a radio show and issue all manner of religiously incorrect, and dangerous fatwas. The government of Saudi Arabia is trying to counter this by getting large numbers of Sunni religious scholars to agree on some standards for who can issue a fatwa, and what a fatwa can do. This is no small matter to Islamic scholars, and the Saudis are spending a lot of money to transport (to Saudi Arabia) and house (in fine style) the most respected Islamic scholars for conferences on the fatwa issue. Shia Islam has less of a problem with this because their clergy is more highly organized with a widely recognized hierarchy of clerics. Despite that, Islam has never had a central power than could decide organizational or religious issues. There are many sects, and some are murderously hostile to each other. Westerners like to say that what Islam needs is a Martin Luther (the Christian cleric who got the Protestant Reformation going 500 years ago). But in this case, what Islam really needs is a pope, someone who has the final word on all these religious arguments. When Islamic radicals get to arguing over these matters, their final argument is often murder, not another theological interpretation. source: http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htmoral/articles/20130703.aspx

Later on he returned to Christianity again and he used to say: "Muhammad knows nothing but what I have written for him." Then Allah caused him to die, and the people buried him, but in the morning they saw that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, "This is the act of Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our companion and took his body out of it because he had run away from them." They again dug the grave deeply for him, but in the morning they again saw that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, "This is an act of Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our companion and threw his body outside it, for he had run away from them." They dug the grave for him as deep as they could, but in the morning they again saw that the earth had thrown his body out. So they believed that what had befallen him was not done by human beings and had to leave him thrown (on the ground)." - Sahih Bukhari Hadith, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 814

"Anas b. Malik reported: There was a person amongst us who belonged to the tribe of Bani Najjar and he recited Sura al-Baqarah and Surat Al-i-'Imran and he used to transcribe for Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). He ran away as a rebel and joined the People of the Book. They gave it much importance and said: He is the person who used to transcribe for Muhammad and they were much pleased with him. Time rolled on that Allah caused his death. They dug the grave and buried him therein, but they found to their surprise that the earth had thrown him out over the surface. They again dug the grave for him and buried him but the earth again threw him out upon the surface. They again dug the grave for him and buried him but the earth again threw him out upon the surface. At last they left him unburied." - Sahih Muslim Hadith, Book 038, Number 6693

"The Islamic State is a byproduct of Al Azhar's programs. So can Al Azhar denounce itself as un-Islamic? Al Azhar says there must be a caliphate and that it is an obligation for the Muslim world. Al Azhar teaches the law of apostasy and killing the apostate. Al Azhar is hostile towards religious minorities, and teaches things like not building churches, etc. Al Azhar upholds the institution of jizya. Al Azhar teaches stoning people. So can Al Azhar denounce itself as un-Islamic?" - Muhammad Abdullah Nasr (scholar of Islamic law and graduate of Al Azhar University) source: https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9444/

"The Messenger of Allah (Mohammed) observed: Verily Islam started as something strange and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole." - Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0270
In this hadith, Mohammed foretold that the end of Islam would be strange just like its beginning and that it would shrink back to the limited area where it came from – between the two mosques of Mecca and Medina.
